In 1983, a young artist named Pati arrived in Saint Barthélemy with little more than a notebook and a set of watercolors.

Instantly charmed by the island’s serene beaches, turquoise waters, and warm, close-knit community, she felt a deep sense of belonging. As she sketched and painted the island’s landscapes and everyday life, her artistic connection to Saint Barth only grew stronger.

Inspired to share the island’s spirit with others, Pati began creating her own graphic designs and printing them on colorful, sun-washed t-shirts. The style was fresh, authentic, and effortlessly island-cool—quickly embraced by both locals and travelers. What started as simple artistic expression soon became a phenomenon.

In 1989, she officially founded St Barth French West Indies, a brand that distilled the island’s essence: laid-back luxury, natural beauty, and a way of life rooted in freedom and joy.

From artist to entrepreneur, Pati’s journey reflects her deep love for Saint Barth and her desire to create clothing that helps people feel true to themselves—forever connected to the island’s unique charm.

More than 35 years later, St Barth French West Indies has become the original and iconic Saint Barth brand, recognized around the world. With three boutiques on the island, the brand continues to celebrate Saint Barth’s vibrant yet serene lifestyle through quality, elegance, and timeless design.
